On January 24, 2025, Member of Parliament, Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs O. Altangerel submitted the draft "Revised version of the Law on Freedom of the Media" and the draft "Law on Freedom of Demonstration and Assembly" to the Speaker of the Parliament D. Amarbayasgalan.
It was presented that the draft "Revised Law on Freedom of the Media" reflects the basic concepts contained in the current Law on Freedom of the Media, as well as several principled issues. For example:

The draft "Law on Freedom of Demonstration and Assembly" calls for demonstrations and assemblies to be open to all issues, and spontaneous demonstrations to be recognized and registered in the same way as notified demonstrations. However, the permit system has been abolished, and the authority to receive and respond to notifications and to disperse illegal demonstrations and gatherings has been changed from the Governor or a political official, to the implementation by the police and the Office of the Governor at that level, and regulations have been introduced, such as not placing restrictions on the right to report and report on demonstrations and gatherings.
